BasisSoft (co-CEOs: Jason Choi, Julian An) has delivered a special lecture on Building Information Modeling (BIM) at the KEPCO International Nuclear Graduate School (KINGS), Korea's sole graduate institution specializing in nuclear power.
The lecture was presented to students enrolled in the 'Nuclear Power Plant Project Management Course,' led by Professor Wooyong Jung.
KINGS was jointly established through an endowment from five major Korean nuclear public corporations, including KEPCO and Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP).
As a 'small but strong' institution, KINGS is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of leaders for the global nuclear industry through a practice-based curriculum and a robust global network of cooperation.
The university plays a pivotal role in training professionals not only for the domestic but also for the international nuclear sector. It contributes significantly to building the foundation for the nation's nuclear power plant exports.
The six-hour special lecture was conducted entirely in English, aligning with the school's policy, and was co-presented by BasisSoft and its Singapore subsidiary, BasisSG.
Arnold Park, Managing Director of BasisSG, delivered a comprehensive, in-depth overview of the latest BIM and Digital Twin technologies across the entire project lifecycle—from planning and design to construction, operation, and maintenance (O&M).
Following him, Director Jangyub Ma discussed the latest BIM trends from Singapore, one of the leading countries in diffusing BIM, and shared an introduction and practical case studies on ISO 19650-based BIM management from the project owner's perspective.
Additionally, Senior BIM Manager Hoon Jang led a hands-on practice session with Autodesk Navisworks Freedom. This session, which demonstrated how to enhance the practical application of BIM for project owners, was met with great enthusiasm from the students.
BasisSoft anticipates that this special lecture will contribute significantly to accelerating the digital transformation of Korea's nuclear industry and enhancing the efficiency and productivity of project management.
The company remains steadfast in its commitment to advancing industry-academia collaboration by providing tailored education and technical support.
